The yellow-billed stork finds its prey by walking with its bill underwater, feeling its way to the fish. The abundant frogs after rainy seasons are also stork favourites.
The red head-plumage is most vivid during mating season. The yellow-billed storks breed in tree colonies, often in the company of other bird species. They lay 2–4 eggs which hatch after about 30 days. The juveniles are pure white and ready to fly after about 2 months.
