Sinaloan milk snake
Lampropeltis triangulum sinaloae
The Sinaloan milk snake is an opportunistic eater. Besides lizards and small reptiles, it also eats insects and newly hatched nestlings. Occasionally it even eats iguana eggs and other snakes.
The female lays 5 to 15 eggs, concealed in vegetation or beneath rocks and logs, and she defends the eggs until they hatch two months later. The young snakes are 20–25 cm long when hatched. Fully-grown adult Sinaloan milk snakes can be up to 1.5 metres long.
