Monk Parakeet
Myiopsitta monachus
As flocks of monk parakeets can greatly damage field crops, the local populace view them as vermin.
Monk parakeets nest in colonies, where up to 12 couples have nests within the same area. The nest of thorny twigs is entered from the bottom, to keep out predators.
